The nature and surroundings around Thoresta Manorg are absolutely stunning, and this historic castle has plenty to offer visitors. The Thoresta Herrgard estate was originally named Thorlastum, a combination of Thorleif and Thorlaf, stadhir and stadh, which means ‘place’. The first recorded use of Thoresta Manor was in 1349. The estate was then owned by the de la Gardie family until the 1780s, when the property was moved to its present location. It was then rebuilt stone by stone.
